robert-bledsoeRobert Delton Bledsoe, 85, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 22, 2018.

Robert, or “Bob, with one ‘O'” as he called himself, was born on March 7, 1933 in Luling, Texas. Bob was an Army veteran of the Korean war and was eventually employed at IBM where he retired after 33 years. Bob was a special man, truly one of a kind. Many lives crossed his path and those individuals were better for knowing him. No one was a stranger to Bob, and he willingly offered guidance and security of fatherly love to anyone who asked or was in need. If you crossed the threshold of his home, you were always welcomed with a cold drink and a cigar on the porch.

Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janet Bledsoe of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Judy Wortham and husband Donald of Sherman, Texas; children: Janice Sue Throckmorton and husband Robert of Mesa, Arizona, and Robert Delton “Del” Bledsoe II and wife Linda of Jarrell, Texas; five grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Delton and Jo Bledsoe of Sherman, and sister, Hazel Wright of Sherman.

A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 27th at Ramsey Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 28th in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home with Father Kurt Hein officiating. Bob will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown following the service.
